PT, DPT

Location: MVPT Physical Therapy – Topsham, ME

Brandon is a graduate of Springfield College where he earned his Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. While he was born in Philadelphia, PA, he spent most of his childhood growing up in West Virginia.

Brandon is an orthopedic physical therapist who in addition to comprehensive therapeutic exercise and patient education, utilizes manual therapy techniques, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, and dry needling. As a Physical Therapist coming from a Sports Medicine background where he worked closely with a Division III College and their Athletic Department, Brandon believes there is a strong similarity in treating the sports-related injury and the occupational injury. “If you consider the goals – both are to provide the most comprehensive and expeditious intervention to achieve a return to the desired activity as quickly as possible.  The difference is that one goal is a sport and the other is the job.  Both individuals want and need to get back to that activity as quickly as possible.  Additionally, both are treated by the Physical Therapist as a subpart of a larger picture – the Sports Medicine Team or the Medical Department.  In both arenas, we as Physical Therapists, work in conjunction with multiple other entities for triage, diagnosis, activity modification, and progressive return to activity in the quickest / safest pathway possible.  The fascinating and exciting aspect of Industrial Rehab is the proactive and responsive interventions that we can provide via Ergonomics – both attempting to create an atmosphere where they are working safely or responding to a concern where we can help mitigate risk.”

In his free time, Brandon enjoys spending time with his wife Sarah and their children Oliver and Elliott. Brandon is a cycling and running enthusiast, and as much as possible the entire family gets involved with skiing, cycling, family runs, hiking, and beach trips.
