Bedford Mary Calderan, DPT

Location: MVPT Physical Therapy – Bedford

Mary graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Northeastern University in 1984, and earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of New England in 2011. She has been published in the Orthopedic Physical Therapy Practice magazine and has taught at Franklin Pierce University in the DPT program.

Over the past 38 years, Mary has worked in various rehab settings including chronic pain clinics, private practices, health club clinics and schools, and has worked with patients who have suffered traumatic brain injuries, and has continued to develop her manual therapy skills through multiple continuing education courses including dry needling and is Graston Technique certified. “My goal when treating patients is to focus on maximizing their pain-free function and educating them about their movement & prevention of future injuries.” Her areas of particular interest include the spine, neck, back & sacroiliac joint pain, and dysfunctions of the shoulder.

Mary and her husband Mark enjoy skiing at Sunday River, and during the winter she has volunteered with Maine Adaptive to help people with disabilities ski. If she’s not skiing downhill, she can be found cross country skiing; and when the snow has melted she enjoys hiking, kayaking, camping and walking her husky, Reka.
