Emily grew up in the small town of Red Hook, New York and attended State University of New York at Geneseo where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology. After completing her undergraduate degree, Emily worked as a nurse’s assistant in a labor and delivery unit at Northern Dutchess Hospital. In this position, Emily gained an appreciation for the interprofessional medical team which inspired her to continue her education in the medical field. Emily has a passion for dance and yoga, and an inherent interest in movement which ultimately led her to pursue a career as a physical therapist with a special interest in pediatric physical therapy. A graduate from the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine with her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, Emily is also a LEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities) graduate trainee, which indicates her focus and advanced training on using an interdisciplinary approach to improve health outcomes for children with disabilities and other special health care needs in the state of Maine. Emily is happy to be a part of the GBPT (now MVPT) team where she splits her time working in the school-based setting with children as well as in our outpatient clinic and providing aquatic physical therapy services.
In her spare time, Emily greatly enjoys attending yoga class which helps her to naturally introduce yoga into her physical therapy practices. She loves to cook and is happiest sharing meals surrounded by family and friends. Emily loves all things related to crafting and can often be found scrapbooking, sewing, or diving into any other creative project.
